“Content is king! It needs to be relevant and consistent to build the audience and keep them engaged with brands over a period of time.”

The 56th episode of Digital India Podcast on FIR Podcast Network is brought to you by staff and students of Web Marketing Academy

At Social Media Week Bangalore, Mahesh Narayanan and Ganga Ganapathi shared their valuable knowledge and views on sharing appropriate, targeted content on correct channels.

Mahesh Narayanan, Global Chief Operating Officer of Saavn talks about the significance of the content, using the social media in most relevant way and the difficulties faced by music industry. Saavn is music streaming service want to change how people in India and abroad listen and share music. Marketing the content and the artist’s on various social media platforms is an approach which Saavn believes in. Understanding the social media and having clarity on what to expect out of it, helps brand in building good strategy. Brands need to also be simple, clean and consistent on social media. Utilizing new features like Facebook Live by putting out relevant and interesting visual content helps engage with the consumer and increase interactions & affinity with the brand.

She highlighted that the first few seconds of the content/ story telling are the most important but making the content relevant and choosing the right media is crucial!
