Coming up with a marketing plan on paper and practically applying it is not the same. I’m sure a lot of you who have been part of this scenario can relate. And this is exactly what Mr. Narendhiran, Marketing Manager, Hacker’s Earth shares with us in this Podcast.
The 145th episode of Digital India Podcast on FIR Podcast Network is brought to you by staff and students of  Web Marketing Academy
Mr. Narendhiran was responsible for coming up with a marketing plan for an event – ‘India’s biggest Hackathon’.
He talks about the various ‘hiccups’ he came across starting from proposing the plan. He didn’t think of considering the budget before proposing the plan to his manager. This may sound amateur to us but, Mr. Narendhiran expresses how every mistake had helped him learn, grow and explore.
He mentions how and why he chose the platforms; be it E-mail, Google’s Display Network, Facebook, Linkedin or Twitter.
He even explained what offline channels he chose and its impact on the changes that reflected in analytics.
How he was able to use IFTTT for Google Display Network to solve another ‘hiccup’ he encountered and got approx. 1200 results from it.
He takes us through every decision he took (offline or online), why he took it and what impact it had.
Though he achieved the set goals through his marketing campaigns, Mr. Narendhiran talks excitedly about the mistakes and problems he stumbled upon and the hacks it led to.
One learns more from the mistakes he makes than the success he achieves.
The only flaw with the mistakes you make is not learning something new.
And Mr. Narendiran’s humble learnings encourage us to make new mistakes so we are encouraged to explore more.
