Live from the AMPlify Conference stage, Ashley Mayhew, Communications and Media Lead at TD Bank, focuses on engagement and its link to employee advocacy. She asks the poignant question; how do you influence advocacy if you aren’t influencing engagement? In her talk, she discusses how great communication means great employee experience and a great experience means engaged employees.
Takeaways:
- Employees can increase social reach of a top brand by 4000% and customer satisfaction by 80% and many more statistics BUT 13% of employees worldwide are engaged at work.
- Start by partnering with HR. PR, HR and Marketing should be best friends in your organization because together all three have the tools necessary to create engagement across the entire organization.
- Have a “value proposition” that is aligned with both the customer and employer brand. They shouldn’t be different when you are trying to get everyone engaged across the board.
- Be consistent with your EVP (Employee Value Proposition) across all messaging and experiences that you create.
Offering the content and opportunity to your employees to advocate for the brand isn’t enough. You have to get them engaged. Through engagement is where you will find your most powerful advocates. And the best way to create engagement is through experiences. So, focus your employee advocacy program there first
